Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 August 2026
Gayvora ("Gayvora", "we", "us", "our") is an adults-only platform for dating, chemistry, and intimacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights and choices you have over it.
Gayvora is for adults 18 and older only. If you are under 18, do not use Gayvora and do not provide us with any information.
Some of the information you share with Gayvora — such as your sexual orientation, gender identity, and details about your sex life — is especially sensitive. We treat it with extra care and only process it with your explicit consent, as described below.
1. Who we are and who this covers
This policy applies to the Gayvora website, progressive web app, and related services (together, the "Service").
Gayvora is the controller responsible for your personal information. For data-protection matters you can reach us at privacy@gayvora.app. Where required, our EU/UK data-protection contact is available at dpo@gayvora.app.
If you access the Service, this policy applies to you whether or not you create an account.
2. The short version
- We collect what you give us (profile, photos, voice, messages), what your device sends (usage, approximate location, technical data), and payment status for Gayvora+.
- We use it to run matching and messaging, keep the community safe, provide premium features, and meet our legal obligations.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your sensitive data for advertising.
- You can access, correct, download, or delete your data, and withdraw consent, at any time.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account data: email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), and the date you confirmed you are 18+.
- Profile data: display name, age, pronouns, gender identity, who you are interested in, photos, voice intro, bio, prompts, connection intent, position/role, power dynamic, group preferences, kinks and interests, and "heat".
- Content: messages, media, and voice notes you send; reactions; and anything you submit through reporting or verification.
- Payment data: your Gayvora+ subscription status and history. Card details are handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers.
- Support data: messages you send us and information you provide when you contact support or file a report.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: features you use, taps, sessions, and interactions, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, and diagnostic logs.
- Approximate location: a coarse area derived from your device or IP, used to show nearby people. We never collect or display your precise, real-time location.
- Cookies and similar technologies: local storage and similar identifiers needed to keep you signed in and remember preferences (see "Cookies" below).
Information from others
If you sign in with a third-party provider (for example Google), we receive basic account details from them, such as your email address, in line with your settings with that provider.
4. Sensitive (special-category) data and your explicit consent
By its nature, a Gayvora profile can reveal information that data-protection laws treat as "special category" or "sensitive" — including your sexual orientation, gender identity, and information about your sex life.
You choose whether to provide this information. Where you do, we rely on your explicit consent to process it for the purpose of operating the Service (showing your profile, matching you, and letting you connect). You can withdraw this consent at any time by editing or deleting the relevant fields, or by deleting your account.
We do not use your sensitive data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers strictly necessary to run Gayvora, or where the law requires it.
5. How we use your information and our legal bases
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and profile (to perform our contract with you).
- Power discovery, matching, signals, and messaging (contract, and explicit consent for sensitive data).
- Provide and administer Gayvora+ and process payments (contract).
- Keep the community safe: detect fraud, abuse, and prohibited conduct; review reports; and enforce our Terms and Guidelines (legitimate interests, and legal obligation).
- Send you service and safety notices, and — if you opt in — push notifications about sparks, likes, and messages (consent for push; legitimate interests for essential notices).
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service (legitimate interests).
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests (legal obligation).
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights and freedoms. You can object to this processing as described in "Your rights".
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our agreements.
Limited safety records (for example, information relating to a serious report, a ban, or an ongoing investigation) may be retained longer where necessary to protect members.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your information ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Data portability — receive certain information in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
You can exercise most of these directly in the app by editing your profile, adjusting notification settings, or deleting your account. For anything else, email privacy@gayvora.app and we will respond within the time limits set by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. U.S. state privacy rights
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about your request.
We do not "sell" personal information and do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@gayvora.app. You may use an authorised agent where the law allows.
11. How we protect your information
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords, and row-level security on our database so that people can only reach the data they are permitted to.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password, keep it confidential, and tell us promptly at privacy@gayvora.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
12. International data transfers
Gayvora may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in, including where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect it in line with applicable law.
13. Adults only — no one under 18
Gayvora is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will remove it and delete their information. If you believe a minor is using Gayvora, report it immediately to safety@gayvora.app.
14. Matching and automated processing
Gayvora uses your preferences and profile to suggest people and to rank discovery. This is not a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you, and a person can always review outcomes. You remain in control of who you signal, match, and talk to.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
